If you are experiencing issues regarding wireless connectivity, here is a (quite thorough) troubleshooting guide.
Flashing the firmware (and testing the cables)
You'll need to connect the Neuron to the computer to flash the firmware. We recommend properly connecting the cables to ensure the flashing process works as intended.
- Disconnect all the cables (from the Neuron to the computer and from the Defy sides to the Neuron).
- Make sure the power is turned off on both sides of your Defy:
- Connect the cables between the keyboard sides and the Neuron. They are connected to the slim end of the Neuron and the middle of the Neuron, just like you see in the image below. Make sure to connect them all the way in (sometimes the cables that go in the Neuron aren't inserted all the way if you're not extra careful, so give them a push just in case):
- Now connect the cable from the Neuron to the computer (use your motherboard's USB ports, no HUBS, no monitor USB ports, or desktop front USB ports). This cable goes into the thick end of the Neuron (the one we didn't use in the last step).
Now, time to flash the firmware.
- Download and install the latest Bazecor version here.
- Now open the Bazecor version you just installed (if it's open, close it and re-open it).
- Go to the "Firmware Update" tab on the left sidebar menu, then follow the instructions on the screen. Choose the latest firmware version available (with the highest number).
- If Bazecor can't "see" your Defy, please flip the side cables around. Connect the cable end that is on the Defy side to the Neuron, and connect the cable end that is on the Neuron on the Defy side, do this for one side cable first. Test. And then the other side cable, and test again.
- If Bazecor says you already use the latest firmware, please "re-flash" in the same menu. You've just re-installed Bazecor and we need to re-flash the firmware too, even if it shows you're in the latest version.
- If after the firmware update, one of your Defy sides is glowing red instead of your normal colors, please flip the side cables around (connect the cable end that is on the Defy side, to the Neuron, and connect the cable end that is on the Neuron, on the Defy side, do this for both side cables). Then update the firmware again by re-opening Bazecor and going to the "Firmware Update" tab on the left sidebar menu, then following the instructions on the screen.
- Now, test your Defy to see if it works correctly with the cabled connection.
Testing RF (Radio Frequency) connection
- If it works with cables, you can turn on the wireless switches on the sides and then disconnect the side cables:
- This should make the Defy work on wireless RF mode.
Testing Bluetooth connection
- Lastly, you can disconnect the Neuron from the cable and insert it in the port under the right side of the Defy:
- Now, the Defy is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Open Bluetooth settings in your computer, and select "add new Bluetooth device." Find the Defy and add it.
- If you had already paired your Defy, and it's not working now, you may need to make your computer "forget" or remove the Defy Bluetooth device, and pair it again.
- You can't configure your Defy in Bluetooth mode with Bazecor, only on RF or wired modes. To do this, remove the Neuron from the slot and connect the Neuron back to the computer:
