Once you decide on a Dygma Keybord, the next step is picking the options to customize your keyboard.
You can customize different aspects of the keyboard:
- The looks of the keyboard, thanks to the color.
- The feel of the keypresses, thanks to the switches.
- The disposition of the keycaps and the legends printed on them.
- Mixing and matching the colors for the keycaps and the keyboard is possible. More on that later.
- You can also select different add-ons, which allow you to control the keyboard's upgrades and budget.
The purchase menus might be overwhelming the first time you encounter them. Let us guide you through them and break down the choices at each stage:
COLOR:
So, first things first, you will need to select a base color between black and silver. This color will also be for the keycaps, palm pads, and other accessories like the travel case, Neuron, or cables. What about having a black top panel with white palm pads and keycaps? You can do that, but you will need to choose the keyboard and accessories in black for this example and then add an extra bundle of white keycaps and palm pads.
We decided to do that because, in the past, we offered more than a hundred different configurations. This translated into considerable assembly process set backs and consequent shipment delays. To avoid that, we are just offering these already-assembled configurations.
LANGUAGE:
Once the color is selected, you must choose between the main keycaps language. Depending on the keyboard you purchase, the options will be different. While on the Defy, you’ll only be selecting the legends of the keycaps, and the Raise is a bit more complicated. ANSI and ISO layouts have different disposition of the keycaps; you can check the difference in these images and in the shopping menu:
These choices will not affect the materials of the keycaps. The Defy mounts PC keycaps, and the Raise 2 mounts PBT keycaps, regardless of the layout.
After you decide on a layout, you’ll be offered the option to purchase an additional keycaps set for a reduced price.
All these sets are made of PC. The legends are laser-etched, and they will match the keyboard’s color.
SWITCHES:
Unlike the keycaps, the switches will be the same regardless of the keyboard model selected. You will need to choose one of the three options that we have selected: Linear model (Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow), Tactile model (Kailh Silent Brown), and Clicky model (Kailh Box White)
Become more familiar with each model's specifications by looking at this article.
After you make the choice, you can buy an additional set of switches at a reduced price. Our keyboards are hot-swappable, so you can change the switches whenever you want.
Of course, all the sets (even the extra ones) will include their corresponding low-profile switches, which will match the switches of choice.
ADD-ONS:
These purchase options will significantly impact the final price of the keyboard and cannot be added after the purchase. For example, if you buy a wired keyboard, you won’t be able to modify it later to be wireless.
If you have any questions regarding them, contact our staff. We’ll be happy to help and clarify any doubts you may have.
Wireless:
When selecting the wireless option, the keyboard will be manufactured with the Wireless PCBs, the Batteries, and the required Neuron.
Wired models won’t include the extra electronics.
Tenting:
If you select this option, the keyboard will mount the special base with the tenting legs. Keyboards without this option will mount a flat base. As this is a built-in tenting, it can not be added once the keyboard has been manufactured.
Underglow:
When you select this option, the keyboard will include the Underglow PCB, which provides light to its edges.
All models include per-key RGBW LEDs, but the cake icing depends on this add-on.
BUNDLES:
Before completing the purchase, we offer the possibility of getting keycaps and palm pads in a different color to customize the keyboard further.
You can select a bundle with new cables and choose the color. It includes the 150 cm, 50 cm, and 2 x 30cm USB-C to USB-C cables.
And the bundle With keycaps & Palmpads.
The color you select applies to the keycaps and the palm pads. The language will determine the legend of the keycaps.
FAQ:
-
Can I buy the keyboards without keycaps or switches?
No. Our keyboards ship with special thumb keys and are carefully packaged, requiring the keys to travel mounted. We cannot remove them from the order in any case. -
Can I buy only one half?
It’s not possible. The keyboard needs both halves to run firmware updates, which are required for proper function.
