Bootloader is a program that allows the firmware to be loaded onto the keyboard.
Forcing your keyboard into bootloader mode is an alternative way to update your keyboard's firmware.
When in bootloader mode, the LED in your Neuron pulses blue, and you can't type.
Reminders:
- This process will erase your personalized layouts and will revert them back to their factory settings.
- Before proceeding, we recommend that you export and save your layers.
- Unplug and replug the USB-C cable from/to your Neuron to exit bootloader mode.
Steps to force your keyboard into bootloader mode and update the firmware:
- Close Bazecor if you have it open.
- Unplug the cable that connects the Neuron to the computer.
- Press and hold the key on the top left corner of your Dygma Keyboard (usually the Esc key).
- Replug the cable to the Neuron while holding the key.
- Now the Neuron should be pulsing blue, and you won't be able to type. You can release the key.
- Open Bazecor.
- Select ANSI (American keyboards) or ISO (European keyboards) if you're given the option.
- Click Connect > Update Firmware > Next > Update now > Start.
- The Neuron will pulse a blue pattern. This should last less than 20 seconds. If it takes longer, the flashing has failed. Please take a look at the troubleshooting steps below.
- Once the flashing has finished, the Neuron will flash multiple colors for a few seconds.
- When the update finishes, your Neuron's lights will remain off.
If Bazecor goes white, close and reopen Bazecor. - Disconnect the Neuron, connect the cables of the keyboard's sides to the Neuron, and reconnect the Neuron to the computer.
- Open Bazecor and remap or restore your layers.
Troubleshooting:
If Bazecor doesn't detect your keyboard, press Ctrl+R (Win and Linux)/CMD+R (Mac) or close and reopen Bazecor.
In case the firmware update fails, this won't damage your Dygma Keyboard. You can still update the firmware by resetting the Neuron.
