Once you decide on a Dygma keyboard, the next step is picking the options to customize your keyboard.
You can customize different aspects of the keyboard:
- The color of the keyboard.
- The feel of the keypresses, thanks to the switches.
- The disposition of the keycaps and the legends printed on them.
- Mixing and matching the colors for the keycaps and the keyboard is possible. More on that later.
- You can also add optional features such as wireless, tenting or RGB underglow.
Let us guide you through these options.
Color
So, first things first, you will need to select a base color between black and silver. This color will also be for the keycaps, palm pads, and other accessories like the travel case, Neuron, or cables.
What about having a black top panel with white palm pads and keycaps? You can do that, but you will need to choose the keyboard and accessories in black and then add an extra bundle of white keycaps and palm pads.
This is because the keyboards come pre-assembled in black or silver; they are not made on demand.
Language
Once the color is selected, you must choose between the main keycaps language. Depending on the keyboard you purchase, the options will be different.
On the Defy, you'll need to choose between English US or Dash.
On the Raise 2, you will need to choose between English US (ANSI) or English UK (ISO). ANSI and ISO layouts have different dispositions of the keycaps; you can check the difference in these images.
These choices will not affect the materials of the keycaps. The Defy mounts laser-etched PC keycaps, and the Raise 2 mounts PBT keycaps, regardless of the layout.
After you decide on a layout, you’ll be offered the option to purchase an additional keycaps set for a reduced price.
These extra sets are made of laser-etched PCs, and they will match the keyboard’s color.
Switches
You can choose between three options: Linear (Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow), Tactile (Kailh Silent Brown), and Clicky (Kailh Box White).
Here's a video that can help you decide which one is best for you:
You can also buy an additional set of switches at a reduced price. Our keyboards are hot-swappable, so you can change the switches whenever you want.
Of course, all the sets (even the extra ones) will include their corresponding low-profile switches for the thumb keys, which will match the switches of choice.
Optional Features
You can add different optional features to your keyboard, such as wireless, tenting or RGB underglow.
Please keep in mind that these optional extras can't be retrofitted to the keyboard, so choose wisely. For example, if you buy a wired keyboard, you won’t be able to modify it later to be wireless.
If you have any questions about them, please feel free to contact our staff. We’ll be happy to help and clarify any doubts you may have.
Wireless
Add wireless connectivity to your keyboard —Bluetooth and low-latency RF— and free yourself from the cluttered workstation. Wireless keyboards can also be used wired.
Tenting:
Upgrade your keyboard to include our built-in tenting solution, which folds inside the keyboard. It goes from 0 to 60º and also has reverse tilting (4 and 8º).
Underglow
When you select this option, the keyboard will include RGBW lighting around its edges. All keyboards include RGBW LEDs per key, but the cake icing depends on this extra.
FAQs
Finally, here are some frequently asked questions regarding the configuration of our keyboards:
-
Can I buy the keyboards without keycaps or switches?
No. Our keyboards ship with special thumb keys and are carefully packaged, requiring the keys to travel mounted. We cannot remove them from the order in any case. -
Can I buy only one half?
It’s not possible. The keyboard needs both halves to run firmware updates, which are required for proper function. -
Can I mix and match the color of the keycaps and the palm pads?
A few years ago, we offered thousands of different configuration options (up to 6048 per keyboard), including black keyboards with white keycaps and palm pads and silver keyboards with black keycaps and palm pads. This resulted in a considerable delay in the assembly process and enormous cost and complexity in logistics. To avoid that, we decided to assemble only the most popular configurations. However, you can still configure that keyboard that way. You can buy a bundle of keycaps and palm pads of a different color with a 20% discount compared to buying them separately.
