- First, make sure you select the same language in Bazecor's preferences:
- And in your OS keyboard input language:
If the keyboard language of your computer and the Bazecor language don’t match, the characters you configure in Bazecor won’t be the ones you see on your screen when you type. This is because each character has its own code that is assigned to a location on the keyboard.
Ideally, both languages also match the language of the physical Keycaps on your keyboard.
If you're using MacOS, some characters might have a different disposition compared to the keycaps on your keyboard and/or the legends displayed in Bazecor. This is because Apple uses a slightly different layout. If you want your layout to match, go to System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources > Edit, and change your input source to the PC version. For example, French PC.
Finally, there could also be an issue on MacOS with ISO keyboards (used mostly in Europe) where the key next to the left Shift is not correctly input. This is because MacOS wrongfully recognizes the keyboard as ANSI, which has a slightly different layout. To fix this, go to System Settings > Keyboard > Change Keyboard Type, and choose ISO.
