If one of your halves has issues turning on or waking from sleep, don't worry. We have prepared a special firmware that fixes the issue.
For now, this special firmware is only available for the Wireless Neuron; do not attempt it with the Y-shaped Neuron. If that's the case, contact us at support@dygma.com and we'll assist you.
Step 1: Create a backup
This process will delete your layers and configuration; you'll need to create a backup to restore them at the end.
To create a backup of your configuration, open Bazecor and go to Preferences > Backups > Export Backup. We recommend you name the file with something you'll remember and save it on your desktop.
Step 2: Flash the special firmware
To flash this special firmware, we need special software. It's called the Flasher Tool.
- Download the Flasher Tool at this link. It's available for Mac, Windows and Linux.
- Download the zip that contains the firmware:
- Unzip the file.
- Connect the keyboard wired using the Dygma official cables. It does not matter if one of the halves doesn't turn on.
- Open the Flasher tool. If this is your first time using it, look for "Advanced" in the menu bar and select "Enable Features."
- Use the folder icon next to the firmware dropdown and select the "Sides Loader" folder you just unzipped. Do not select the folder inside that folder. It should look like the image above.
- Click on" Skip serial number input."
- Activate "Force sides flash."
- Click on "Flash Neuron" and wait.
- When possible, click on "Flash Sides".
- Do not proceed with the rest of the steps in the Flasher Tool.
- Close the flasher tools.
When the halves are flashed, they pulse yellow, except for one key on the top outer corner of each half—the default positions of Backspace and ESC, which pulse in red.
Press the red key on one half, wait for the half to turn green, and repeat with the other half.
This will update the bootloader on each side of the keyboard, which was causing the issues that you were experiencing.
Step 3: Flash the normal firmware
Finally, we need to reflash the standard firmware. For that, we will use Bazecor.
- Open Bazecor.
- Go to the Firmware menu, and update the firmware to the latest available.
- When you try to flash the firmware in this state, you'll get a notification from Bazecor claiming the left side is in bootloader mode, but this will not prevent the update. Since the left half is in bootloader mode, you won't have to press ESC to start the update; it will run automatically.
Once the firmware update is complete, go to Preferences > Backups > Load Backup and select the file you created at the beginning.
Everything should work now 😊
If you have any issues after updating the firmware to v2.1 for the Defy and v1.3 for the Raise 2, please try flashing the previous versions: v2.0 for the Defy and v1.2 for the Raise 2.
