Though we pride ourselves on precise manufacturing and exhaustive quality control, sometimes the smallest deviation can cause your keyboard to wobble, either flat or in some tenting positions.
How to fix tenting wobble
First, please ensure you set your Tenting legs as this video shows.
An imperfection as small as 0.1mm can cause slight wobbling, and sometimes, the curvature of some tables causes wobbling, too. Before proceeding, please try the keyboard on different tables and orientations.
Also, please check that the screws at the bottom of the keyboard are not loose. Be careful not to tighten them too much, either. Just enough that they are completely screwed. Then check for wobbling again.
If it's still present, there are three things you can try:
- Applying downward pressure on the keyboard while tented on the wobbling position. You can push harder than you think since the Tenting legs are robust. The goal is to make all pieces and bolts fall into place.
- Changing some of the little U-shaped plastic rods fitted in the aluminum tenting legs. If you swap them around due to their tiny differences inside the manufacturing tolerances, you may find a combination that reduces wobbling to a minimum.
- Use a big desk mat. This will cushion the keyboards and remove the wobbling. I tested it, and it works surprisingly well π This is probably the easiest solution and the one I personally use with my keyboard.
If the problem continues, please email us at support@dygma.com and attach pictures or a video showing the wobble and the legs; we'll be able to give you instructions and any material needed to solve the problem.
How to fix wobbling at 0ΒΊ
First of all, please check the keyboard on different tables and orientations. Sometimes, the keyboard is perfectly flat, but the table isn't π
If it wobbles on different surfaces, please check that the screws at the bottom of the keyboard are not loose. Be careful not to tighten them too much, either. Just enough that they are completely screwed. Then check for wobbling again.
If the wobble is still present, please try the following:
Place the keyboard at the edge of a table, hold it with one hand and apply your body weight on the opposite area using your other hand (shown in red) for 10 seconds. The keyboard is very tough, so you can apply a relatively high amount of weight.
This should make the keyboard flat again. Keep using it for a few days and check if the issue persists afterward.
If it were to start wobbling in the opposite axis, you could do the same but placing the keyboard like this and applying the weight on this other area:
This may look a little harsh, but as I said, our keyboards are very tough, and this method is used in the manufacturing plant after assembly.
The reason is that the aluminum plate's anodizing process slightly warps it, and our workers have to manually correct it. Customers rarely receive keyboards that wobble because we always solve this right after assembly.
If the problem continues, please email us at support@dygma.com and attach pictures or a video showing the wobbling.
